Dr. Sunil Kumar P G

Dr. Sunil Kumar P G is an alumnus of Cochin University of Science and Technology, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and University College London, and an Indian Navy veteran with more than 22 years of commissioned service. He is a Gold Medalist who graduated in 1990 and acquired further qualifications in 1993, 1998 and 2011. He has rich industrial experience in varied fields like design and repairs of warships, commercial ships & submarines, management of new construction projects, teaching, R&D, production and project management. He served on the faculty of Naval Architecture of Cochin University of Science and Technology for 6 years. Later, he worked in the hydrodynamic research wing of Indian Defence Research and Development Organization, the design division of L&T Shipbuilding, and as the Director of UAE based Aries Marine and Engineering Services. He is a consultant to various maritime companies. He was awarded PhD for his studies in the field of ultimate strength and reliability of ship structures. He is an external examiner of various universities at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. Dr Sunil Kumar is abreast with all latest trends and techniques in the domain of Ship Research, Design and Building process. He is a member of Institution of Naval Architects, India and Royal Institution of Naval Architects, UK, Institution of Engineers, and is a Chartered Engineer.

Dr. Smitha K K
Associate Professor, B.Tech (Civil), M.Tech (CASAD), Ph.D
A graduate in Civil Engineering, Dr. Smitha K K completed her M.Tech in Computer Aided Structural Analysis and Design and her Doctor of Philosophy from Department of Ship Technology, CUSAT. She has more than 7 years of experience as structural consultant of which two years she spent in IIT Madras as the Project Associate and Structural Engineering Division. She has over three years of experience in teaching for both undergraduate and post graduate courses. She worked as full time research scholar to attain her Ph.D in finite element analysis in the year 2014 attaining a research experience of over 3 years. She joined the department in January, 2016.
Research Interests: Ship Structures, Finite Element Analysis, Composite Materials, Analysis and design of Subsea Structures.

Mr. Savin Viswanathan
Asst. Professor, B.E - Mech., M.Tech- OE
A Post Graduate in Ocean Technology & Management from the Indian Institute of Technology-Madras, Asst. Prof. Savin Viswanathan was the recipient of Prof. K.A.V Pandalai prize and Institute Merit Prize for academic merit in ocean technology at IIT-Madras in 2012-13 & 2011-12 respectively. He has a wide range of professional experience encompassing the domains of marine operations, marine design and project management. His bachelor's degree is in mechanical engineering from Periyar University. His hobbies include landscape/nature photography, travelling and reading. He is currently learning how to build detailed scale models of masted ships.
Research Interests: Subsea engineering, Pipelines-risers-umbilicals, Hydrodynamics, Ship piping system design, 3D Modelling and Remotely Operated Vehicles.

Mathesh B.
Asst. Professor, D.E.R.E, B.E-NA, M.Tech-NA&OE
A post graduate in Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering from the Indian Maritime University, Asst. Prof. Mathesh B. has hands on industrial experience in shipbuilding and in the automotive industry. His bachelor degree is in Naval Architecture from Anna University preceded by a Diploma in Mechatronics and he also holds a NDT Level II certificate.

Pramod K. B.
Asst. Professor, B.Tech, M.Tech
He completed his B-Tech From School of Engineering Cusat and M-Tech from Indian Maritime University Vizag campus. He has worked in Govt. funded research projects on "Productivity of Indian Shipyards" and "Cost Estimation in ship building". Has over 3.5 years teaching experience for B-Tech and STCW courses.
Research interest:Ship production, Structural Analysis, Hydrodynamics, Damaged Stability.

Mr. Arunprasath P
Asst. Professor, B.S-Marine, M.Tech-NA&OE
A post graduate in Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering from Indian Maritime University, Vizag. His Project work includes the Productivity Measurement of Indian Shipyards. He holds Marine Engineering Bachelor degree from BITS, Pilani. Asst. Prof. Arunprasath P has good knowledge in Marine Machineries & Marine Systems. He has also done Basic STCW and Tanker Familiarization Courses. He has teaching experience of teaching B.Tech Marine Engineering Students.
Research interest: Ship Productivity, Ship Stability.

Mr. Shallen S V
Asst. Professor, BE, M.Tech
Completed his BE-Marine Engineering and M.Tech - Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering (Indian Maritime University, Vishakhapatnam campus 2014). He has teaching experience in areas of Naval Architecture, ocean engineering, and Marine engineering. His area of specialization is Free Surface Hydrodynamics. The application areas are mainly ships and offshore structures. He has published paper in conference proceedings of International repute.

Asst. Professor, B.Tech, M.Tech
He is a Post Graduate in Ocean Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Asst. Prof. Bijesh has three years of industrial experience in designing of ships and offshore floating rigs, where, he worked with Keppel Offshore and Marine, Singapore. He was part of many inclining test and model testing teams during his association with the industry. He obtained his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Govt. College of Engineering, Kannur.
Research interest: Marine hydrodynamics, Dynamics of ships and offshore structures, Hull optimization.

Mr. Vishnu R
Asst. Professor, B.Tech, M.Tech
He completed his B. Tech from College of Engineering, Trivandrum in Mechanical Engineering and M.Tech in Ocean Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. He started his career as guest lecturer in College of Engineering Trivandrum. Further worked as Senior Research Fellow, in an Indo- Russian project, coordinated by IC and SR, IIT Madras for one year before joining SNGCE.
Research interest: Cfd and Experimental Analysis of near shore waves, Offshore Structural Design.
