REBUILD KERALA INITIATIVE 2019-20
The Civil Engineering Department actively participated in the Rebuild Kerala initiative, a State Government program focused on rebuilding roads with higher quality and durability following the devastating floods. Recognizing the need for high-quality and durable road infrastructure for the social, economic, and industrial development of any state, our dedicated staff and students conducted thorough road surveys in nearby panchayats. The resulting reports, which included detailed design parameters and plots, were submitted to aid in the effective planning and execution of the rebuilding efforts.
The Civil Engineering Department conducted a detailed survey as part of an outreach program to assess the water quality of the Kothamangalam River, covering the stretch from Muvattupuzha to Kothamangalam. This initiative focused on understanding the current state of the river's ecosystem and identifying potential areas of concern regarding water pollution and environmental sustainability. The survey team consisted of both experienced faculty members and enthusiastic students, who worked collaboratively to collect water samples from different locations. This provided the students with valuable field experience, allowing them to apply their theoretical knowledge to real-world environmental issues.
MISSION AMRUT SAROVAR- JAL DHAROHAR SAMRAKSHAN-INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
With a view to conserve water for the future, the Prime Minister had launched a new initiative named Mission Amrit Sarovar on 24th April 2022.The Mission is aimed at developing and rejuvenating 75 water bodies in each district of the country as a part of celebration of Azadi ka AmritMahotsav. A team of staff and students from CE Department, SNGCE were a part of this mission.
PUBLIC REACTION SURVEY TO SABARI RAIL TRACK, IN ASSOCIATION WITH NSS UNIT SNGCE
As a preparatory work for SABARI RAIL PROJECT, a reaction survey was conducted by NATPAC. This crucial initiative aimed to gather detailed data and insights necessary for the successful implementation of the rail project, which holds significant importance for the region's transportation infrastructure. A dedicated team of staff and students from the Civil Engineering Department of SNGCE actively participated in this important work. Their involvement included conducting surveys in the nearby panchayats, where they meticulously gathered and analyzed data related to the project.
