A technical talk was organised by Civil Engineering Dept. on 21.10.2024 for the Civil Engineering students. The talk was given by Mr. Ajith A V, HOD, Civil Engineering Dept, emphasizing the gap between academic skills and real-world career requirements of the students. The session began with a welcome address by Ms. Devanandana. Mr. Ajith A V then delivered an insightful session focusing on the disparity between academic learning and industry expectations. The key points discussed included the importance of practical exposure alongside theoretical knowledge, skills that are in high demand in the civil engineering job market, the role of internships, industrial training, and continuous learning, and challenges students face when transitioning from academics to industry roles. The technical talk provided valuable insights into how students can better prepare for their careers in civil engineering.
