SNGCE Library


SNGCE has a central library and respective department libraries. The central library was founded in the year 2002 right from the inception of the college. The library is located on the second floor of the Administration Block. It consists of a Reference section, circulation counter, reading section, periodical section and Digital library. SNGCE Library has a vast collection of information resources - over 44552 Books (Print Copy) and 6006 eBooks (soft Copy) that includes technical, management, general volumes, ready references, encyclopedia etc. The library is also subscribing to national and international journals and e-Journal packages. SNGCE Library is fully automated with an open access system and a barcode based circulation process.
 



Objectives


» To provide systematic and fast methods for the proper circulation of library books among the users.
» To accommodate rare editions of trending technologies
» To update and procure the relevant and recent journals, and useful publications for faculty and student community.
» To fulfil the basic needs to support teaching, learning and research.
 

Working Hours


The Library is open from 8 AM to 8 PM on all regular working days and up to 4.30 pm on those days with special classes in the college. Sundays and other public holidays are applicable to Library also.
 



Membership


SNGCE library offers membership to teaching and nonteaching members of staff, Research Scholars and students of the college.
 

Loan of Books

» B-Tech students are entitled to take a loan of four books at a time and keep them for 14 days. Renewal can be done once for a period of 14 days only.
» M-Tech, MBA, MCA Students are entitled to take five books at a time and can keep them for 14 days.
» Research Scholars are entitled to take six books at a time and can keep them for three months.
» Each teacher can take seven books at a time and can keep them for 3 months.
» Non-teaching staff can take two books at a time and can keep them for 3 months.
» Deserving students are entitled to take books from the book bank scheme for one whole semester.

Library Resources


Books: SNGCE Library has a collection of around 44552 books under 12748 different titles and 6006 ebooks. The books are classified according to the DDC 21st ed. Scheme of classification

Journals: The library subscribes to sufficient print journals. Bound volumes of journals and magazines are also available for reference

CD- ROMS: Library has acquired over 3282 CDs and DVDs

Reports: Library has a good collection of reports like Project Reports, Mini Project Reports and Seminar Reports.

Question Papers: Previous year's Question papers are serially arranged and bound for reference.





MBA LIBRARY


MBA Library is located on the Ground floor of the PG Block. The library consists of a Reference section, circulation counter, Reading section, periodical section and Digital library. MBA Library has a vast collection of over 7392 information resources that include technical and general volumes, ready references, encyclopedia etc. The library is also subscribing to about 24 national and international journals. MBA Library is fully automated with an open access system and a barcode-based circulation process.
 


MCA LIBRARY


MCA Library is located on the 3rd floor of the PG Block. The library consists of a Reference section, circulation counter, Reading section, periodical section and Digital library. MCA Library has a vast collection of over 4869 information resources that include technical and general volumes, ready references, encyclopedia etc. The library is also subscribing to about 24 national and international journals. MCA Library is fully automated with an open access system and a barcode based circulation process.
